Formal or Informal?

I administered a formal language assessment to a child who is deaf/hard-of-hearing. I used an interpreter to administer stimulus items and translate responses. I am wondering, am I still allowed to report standard scores or would you report this as an informal: strengths/weaknesses? Thanks

You can report the scores, as long as everything was translated as verbatim as possible. This is assuming you're going from English ->ASL and not English -> Spanish Sign Language or anything like that. You will need to note that the scores should be interpreted with caution as an interpreter was used.

I would report scores BUT make sure you comment with a big caveat and explain the situation, or as rebel_melody said, emphasize that one should "interpret with caution." Really depends on the exact test you are using, but I don't think the standard scores are valid unless the normed population included translation to ASL.

Thanks so much for the help rebel and fouxdefafa. I am writing everything up now.
But I have another question: Is there a standardize language assessment for deaf/hoh population? Just curious
