I just sent off my applications to the three schools listed above. I would love to hear stories from past, present, or potential future students.

I like the program at Kearney as I could take a few classes specifically related to TBI. However, Omaha as a city would be easier for my wife to find work in. U of N Lincoln is one of the top 20 schools in the US in regards to speech-language pathology.

I would love to hear anyone's thoughts regarding the three schools.

Thanks

It is my understanding that rankings don't matter so much in SLP when it comes to later employment or even the inherent quality of a program.

That said, Lincoln's only an hour from Omaha. Is there any way that you or your wife could commute if you choose UNL?

Good to hear starrysyntax. I really don't want my wife nor myself to have to commute. We have a soon to be four year old and me going back to school will be hard enough on him. I have been a stay at home dad for the past 18 months trying to finish up my prerequisites for grad school.

Do you live in the Lincoln/Omaha area?

I don't live in NE, but my husband and I take a road trip to Denver nearly every year and drive through on I-80.

Good luck with whatever you choose. As long as you get into a program, you should be fine!
